Limiting Physical Activity makes Painful Conditions Worse

People living with chronic pain, like fibromyalgia, often equate activity with increased pain. Researchers writing an article appearing in the January, 2005 issue of Arthritis and Rheumatism (52(1):296-303) actually measured the physical activity of fibromyalgia patients. They found that increased activity does not lead to increased pain. Actually increased activity and exercise improves the well-being of these patients.
